ENTOMOLOGY COLLECTION
There are over 2,000 entomology cases containing the incredible collection of Carlo Locca, whose name has been attributed to at least 10 specimens, since he was the first to discover and classifying them.
The collection comprises approximately 2,500 paratypes and over 150 holotypes (holotype is the physical example of an organism used when the biological or mineralogical species was originally formally described).
It boasts a world-class collection of different beetle species, such as Carabidae, Cyrus, Calosoma, Cereglossus, Lucanids and Scarabeidae.
